Amy and Vincent – A Romantic Fairytale Wedding

Congratulations to a beautiful couple, Amy and Vincnet. Wishing the two of you a wonderful journey as you build your new life together!

Amy is a romantic bride and white is definitely her favourite colour. White symbolises sacred and pure. It’s a simple colour, yet it works very well with other hues, and in this case, purple. During her wedding, we have helped her design a beautiful “Cinderalla Pick-up Style” receiving table and cake table- with a touch of bright crystal buckle showered with purple petals on the top of the table to add a little more romanticism into the atmosphere.

Amy’s bridal bouquet was very special. Not only were there white hydrangeas, but fresh lavender roses, purple lisianthus, ivory hypericum berries and misty blue limonium were also used.  The bouquet was finished with an ivory satin wrap which had pearls and diamond brooch to give the bride the extra “bling”.

Below are some photos of the happy couple, the beautiful bouquet, and of course, the decor of that night. Enjoy!

Audrey and Jaejun’s Wedding — A Vintage x Beach Theme Wedding

Congratulations, Audrey and Jaejun!  Your wedding is truly beautiful.

Audrey and Jaejun live in Korea, and have decided to host their wedding at the Bayview Golf and Country Club in Thronhill, Ontario. I am glad that someone whom I have never met, half way across the world, appreciates my style of work, and have chosen me to be their florist and wedding decorator.  I guess it is flattering to know that the couple is comfortable to book my service without evening meeting me in person!  I guess my work is just consistently beautiful 🙂

It wasn’t until few days before their wedding day, when I finally got to meet the couple in person in Toronto, where we confirm all the final details for the wedding.

Please check out the photos below from Audrey and Jaejun’s wedding.  It is filled with beach elements, with a touch of vintage!

Florence and Jerry’s Wedding — A Simply Elegant Wedding

I am delighted to be the decorator for Florence and Jerry’s wedding.  The couple has chosen the Estates of Sunnybrook to host their wedding.  The Estates of Sunnybrook is one of my favourite places; it has a lot of character and charm, by fusing traditional architecture with modern interior design.

In addition to working with the awesome couple, I also get to see some of my awesome friends on the wedding day, including Peggy Lee and Eric Choi.

Peggy is an talented makeup artist.  Like always, I saw her working the magic on Florence, but then again the bride already has a beautiful canvas to work with.  Eric is another fabulous person to work with.  His photos always capture the precious moments of the wedding day, not to mention his work is always consistently beautiful.

Check out the photos of Florence and Jerry’s wedding.  Some photos are courtesy of Eric Choi.  Enjoy!

Leila and Johnny’s Wedding Flowers — A Heartfelt Wedding

Congratulations Leila and Johnny!  May your love bloom brighter and your companionship grow sweeter with each passing year.

Leila is definitely an unique bride.  On our first meeting, she already told me that she wouldn’t settle for any wedding flower that looks ordinary.  She then told me that the only interesting bouquet she has ever seen is a bouquet with circular patterns.  Immediately, I knew she was referring to the biedermeier bouquet.  With the biedermeier bouquet, its blooms are tightly-structured and carefully-arranged in defined circular patterns of different coloured flowers, each ring containing one type of flower.

During the rest of our consultation, I discussed with Leila some other elements which can make bouquets more special, such as building them in heart-shape, adding bouquet jewellery, etc. Immediately, she adored those ideas and wanted to combine them with the biedermeire bouquet.

Traditionally, a well-structured heart-shaped bouquet requires using many blooms to form a balanced heart shape.  Using too little flowers would give the bouquet a diamond-shaped look (like the Superman logo!).  This implies that the heart-shaped biedermeier would require a lot of flowers, since we would need many blooms to give the inner-heart a nice heart shape, and even more flowers to form the outter-heart.  However, this would not be an option because the bride has requested not to build her bouquet too big.

Building this bridal bouquet is sure a challenge!  In order to create a well-defined heart-shape, we would need to position each flower precisely at the right location and at the exact angle.  Below, it is a heart-shaped biedermeier bouquet built by another florist, which is not as attractive, looks flat, and resembles a diamond more than a heart.

Now, compare what we have made for our bride (photos below) with the heart-shaped biedermeier bouquet built by the other florist (photo above). Our bouquet is more round and retains its heart-shape. We did not use a lot of flowers as the bride has requested so. We have also spiced up the bouquet by adding Swarvoski jewel picks and crystals to the bouquet handle.

Susanna’s Bridal Bouquet – Simply Purple, Stunningly Beautiful

Susanna is getting married in Punta Cana, but before she flies to the south for her destination wedding, she is having her civil ceremony in Toronto.  To keep things simple, Susanna ordered a purple bridal bouquet for herself only.

There are not that many types of purple seasonal flower around during the winter months, but iris is one of the few available ones.  Although the shape of the flower is very pretty and unique, iris is not an easy flower to work with.  Iris has a very short vase life, and it is extremely sensitive to humidity changes.  To ensure the iris would not open up too quickly, we have wired each iris individually to control its bloom size.  We have also conditioned them thoroughly to ensure their petals retain its moisture and would not wrinkle-up.

Here are some photo of the happy couple and the bouquet.  Enjoy!

We are glad that Susanna loves her bridal bouquet.  Below is a thank-you letter from the bride.

Amy and Imraz’s Wedding — A Black, White, and Bling Wedding

Congrats to the newlyweds Amy and Imraz!  It has been my pleasure to work with the two of you.  Like how everyone from your wedding said so, I just want to tell you that your wedding is purely AWWWWESSSOMMMEE!!!

During our first consultation, Amy and Imraz already brought in a lot of their inspirational pictures.  Most of them suggest a black and white theme.  So, I offered the couple some advices on the latest black and white trends (such as the use of damask pattern), and how adding some bling bling (crystal elements) would add a modern touch to their wedding.  I am glad that you two love the final effect of the wedding decorations 🙂

Amy and Imraz had their wedding reception at Riviera Parque (http://www.rivieraparque.com/), which is one of the largest banquet halls in Ontario with 20 ft ballroom ceilings.  If you would like to wow your guests with a jaw-dropping atmosphere, this is the venue for you!

The following is another great review for Secrets Floral from the couple.

Lucille and Adam’s Wedding — An Intimate Party on the Lake

Lucille and Adam decided to have a memorable wedding on the lake.  Unlike most traditional weddings taking place in chapels and halls, they have their wedding on Showboat, and making their vows over Lake Ontario.

Lucille and Adam have an antique pearl wedding ring, so they have decided to have a pearl theme for their wedding.  To compliment this pearl theme and to keep things formal, we have chosen white and other neutral colour for the decor and flowers.

Here are some photos from the intimate wedding party.

The couple is very satisfied with our professional services. We don’t just do our job, we treat all weddings like they are our own. We literally pour our heart to each and every single wedding, and we always take the extra miles to make each wedding a success.

Sherri-Anne and Atiba’s Wedding — A Modern Classic

Congratulations Sherri-Anne and Atiba!  You two are one of the sweetest couples that I have ever met.

Sherri-Anne and Atiba have an orchid wedding theme, so we have added orchids in the bouquet, centrepieces, and arrangements.  To add a modern twist to their wedding, we have added a lot of crystals to make it all glittery, and have used cooler colours like silver, blue, and black in the linens and backdrop.  Yet, we ensured the wedding is still cozy by adding a lot of candles.

If you are wondering which venue is this, with some much natural sunlight . . . it is the Manor at Kettleby.  It is a wonderful places with friendly and helpful staffs.  Bride-to-be’s, check this place out if you are still searching for a venue 🙂

It always put a smile on our face when our clients love us SOOO much!!! Thank for the referrals, Sherri-Anne and Atiba.
